                                         First if any one is new to Hitachi Storage they should have basic idea about naming terminology.

LDEV : Logical Device
               
                         Logical Partition of array group by emulation type.

Emulation:
                 
                   Partitining of array groups into LDEVs.

Types:  OPEN-V (Open Systems) and OPEN-3

LCU : Logical Control Unit

•   Number of Luns depend upon cache size,number of HDDs(Hard Disk Drive) installed.
• 256 LDEVs per LCU

CHA : Channel Adapter = Channel Processor =FED(Front End Director)

DKC : Disk Controller

DKU : Disk Unit

HDD : Hard Disk Drive

SSID: Storage System ID

        

• Unique ID is assigned to each LCU
• Used by True copy Remote replication Software.
